Stjärnholms Church dates from 1660 and is open daily during the summer. The church was built by the General Customs Director Wilhelm Drakenhielm and his wife Anna Maria after they inherited the Stjärnholm estate. The church is owned by the Oxelösund Parish and has recently been refurbished.
Frösängs Chapel and the older part of the cemetery were designed by Erik Gunnar Asplund in 1938. The Summer Night Music concert (Musik i sommarkväll) is organised in the chapel every summer.
Cultural environments
Gamla Oxelösund has many beautifully restored buildings and a vibrant archipelago habitat with a maritime tavern that dates back to the 1600s, an archipelago museum, the conference centre Mästerlotsen and culture trails that introduce you to the origin of Oxelösund.
The castle Stjärnholms slott dates back to the 1600s. The areas around the castle including the church, stables, and sculpture park are designed for relaxation and pleasure. Today the castle is a hotel, conference centre and diocesan estate.
